The devs at Wondershare, creators of High Quality Video Converters and Free Youtube Converter, have entered the Android video player arena and have thrown down the gauntlet in the Google Play app market. I ran the app for a week or so and here are my observations:

The app has a lot of content. And by “a lot” I mean, it’s enough to keep you busy for hours if you want to watch all kinds of online media. There was plenty of content to watch including Hulu, Youtube, and Vevo. The app has built in “favorites” and “watch it later” features which come in handy when you in a hurry. One nice feature is the streaming video feature where you can manually add streaming links.

When testing the app, I did not notice any pixilation or any other video distortions. The videos loaded quickly and played smoothly on my unrooted Gnex on Sprint. You actual millage may vary depending on signal strength. I found the video quality to be very good. When compared to other paid apps, The Wondershare player rendered the videos in vivid color, which were not washed out like other the paid apps. The audio of the movies were in sync even on locally stored large movie files. The app ran smoothly and did not force close on me once. Also, what video player would be complete without supporting local storage media? Wondershare supports local audio and video content.

The UI was laid out intuitively and I found it easy to navigate without issues. I highly recommend you test the app for yourself. It is currently free in Google Play. In closing, hats off to Wondershare for this great video player.
