With all the viruses & malware floating around for computers, users want to do all they can to ensure their device doesn’t fall victim to scams or anything else of the sort. And having an android device is basically like having a computer in your pocket anyway, right? So, with all the personal info kept on phones nowadays, we wanna do all we can to protect them.
Luckily, carriers are becoming more aware of this as well. Sprint recently announced that its McAfee Security app is now available for download (7 day free trial, $29.99 to purchase), and shortly afterward, AT&T announced its plans to begin rolling out their own mobile security based, on a client by Juniper Networks. Although it isn’t scheduled for release ’til later in the year, it promises to keep phones safe ‘by monitoring apps & enabling virus and malware protection’.
And if you happen to have some other carrier, don’t feel left out! There are a multitude of other protection apps available for download in the Android Market. Just be sure to check them out to know which one would be best for you.
