GameStop to offer Nexus 7 – Taking Pre-Orders

The technology world and Android world are still abuzz about the release of Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and the Nexus 7 tablet.  Many have already flashed early versions of 4.1 JB on their devices and have placed their order for the first tablet to feature the latest Android OS.  As mentioned in the Play Store, the Nexus 7 tablet is slated for a mid-July release and was mentioned by Google to also be offered by third-party retailers.  It appears that one of the first retailers to offer a pre-order on the device.

GameStop is offering up the 16GB version at the same price as you can get on the Play Store, $249.99.  The website says that the tablet will be available for in-store pickup on July 31st but the Press Release mentions the same mid-July reference that is offered from Google.  Basically, you now have two choices of where to order from.  The kicker with GameStop is they allow trade-ins of used tablets that can be put towards the purchase of a new one.  Include some old games that you don’t play anymore or that Wii that is collecting dust and you just many have yourself a new Nexus 7 tablet for nothing.  That sounds like a deal to me.  I may be raiding my sons PS3 collection to help fund my technology habit.

So hit up GameStop, order you a Nexus 7 tablet with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and be the envy of your friends, even the Apple freaks that don’t like to admit that their products are inferior.

Until next time.
