Is your favorite web browser supported by Windows 8 Tablets?

With the impending release of Windows 8 and Windows 8 Tablets comes the news that Google and Mozilla Firefox will not work with the Win 8 Tablet OS called
Windows RT.

Mozilla was the first to voice concerns in a blog post. Firefox will work, but in a limited capacity. Google resonated Mozilla’s suspicions in a statement. Google said, “We share the concerns Mozilla has raised regarding the Windows 8 environment restricting user choice and innovation.” They went on to say, “We’ve always welcomed innovation in the browser space across all platforms and strongly believe that having great competitors makes us all work harder.”

Microsoft is not talking about the matter at all. And it seems MS is taking a page from Apple which does not allow any third party browsers on any of their devices. Only time will tell if MS will allow third party browsers. In the meantime, a larger issue is program compatibility with Win 8. For those around for the launch of Win XP and the nightmares with compatibility, this could be another incarnation.
