Microsoft Kinect Glasses? Yes, Please.

If you are console gamer, more specifically a fan of Microsoft’s XBOX (in any version), then you undoubtedly know of the impending XBOX 720.  The XBOX 720 will be Microsoft’s next iteration of their wildly popular gaming console.  While I am not here to debate the merits of XBOX vs. Playstation, I will say that XBOX has a leg up with their Kinect virtual controller over Playstation’s Move.  Now it looks that Microsoft is upping their game with the XBOX 720 and the next version of Kinect with “Kinect Glasses”.

A document that was supposedly “leaked” from Microsoft hint’s at Project Fortaleza which is better known as the Kinect Glasses.  These glasses will work over Wi-Fi or 4G and will bring the game from the screen to the room in a possible augmented reality type situation.  Imagine fighting a life size character from one of your favorite games in your living room or even in your backyard as these glasses are said to be usable away from the console.  Of course, the XBOX 720 is rumored to be released in 2013, and the Kinect Glasses in 2014. So you will have to wait a bit.  Will it be worth it, or will it be a lot of smoke-and-mirrors to get you to spend your hard earned money?  I guess only time will tell.

Until next time.
