Tha PHLASH’s icons can be purchased as stand-alone icon packs at his Tha ICON site for $4.99 separately, but I’ve found the easiest and cheaper way to go is to use Tha Icon Ultimate app. Tha Icon Ultimate app loads all of Tha PHLASH’s icons in one place. According to its Android Market description there are 47 free and 160 premium icon packs, each with 852 icon types. I did notice recently though that Google+ and Google Messenger icons were added, so the actual number of icon types may even be bigger. Premium icon packs are purchased via in-app purchasing either at $0.99 a piece or $3.99 for five. Don’t worry though, just like any purchase from the Google Market, you only have to buy them once; your purchases are linked to your Google account, so you can download them again and again. In addition to the premium icon packs that can be purchased, there is always one that is featured and free for the day.

The numerous icon types vary from standard Android such as phone and calendar, specific Android apps such as ShootMe and Androidify, to specific brands such as Ferrari and Louis Vuitton.  In addition to the crazy number of icon types, there are also icon packs that have are in the style of a specific brand.  For example, there’s an ACS icon pack that you can purchase as a premium icon pack via in-app purchasing, all of which have the iconic ACS chrome and blue color scheme.  Tha ICON Ultimate itself allows the user easy to the icons.  It’s compatible with ADW, LauncherPro, GO Launcher, and Open Home without any modifications. If you install Desktop VisualizeR or BetterCut, Tha ICON Ultimate’s capabilities expand to use with Zeam, HTC Sense, Stock Android 2.3 Launcher, Launch-X, or any other launcher version that previously hasn’t been named.

Simply long press any app on your homescreen or dock to change its icon. You’ll be given the standard option of picking icons from the gallery app or any installed file explorer app, but there will also be an option for Tha Icon Ultimate app. If you choose this option, it will open and you can choose what icon pack you want the icon to come from. (It will remember the last one you picked, so you won’t have to do that every time if you’re changing multiple icons in a row.) It will then ask you to choose which of the 852 (or more) icons you want to use. What’s nice is there’s a search bar at the top, so you can easily find what you’re looking for, they’re not in alphabetical order. It will preview the icon where you can select the size and click save.
