SGS3 – UnRooted
-Tutorial-
Hey everyone The_Ryno here with a different kind of project today how to un-root your rooted Samsung Galaxy S3, in other words for our newcomers, get rid of all traces of activity that will void your warranty. So why un-root you may ask well in my case its because my Quadrant scored dipped by 2000 points when i rooted my Sprint SGS3 and now i am writing this how-to as i restore my SGS3 back to stock to see if rooting affects my score somehow. For others it maybe that something terrible happened and you have to return your device stock or no new phone for you. One more little sidenote the custom recovery will be stuck with you for awhile seeing as the stock recovery image for our phone isnt available so when it does arrive i will update this tutorial so for now it will be pretty short. Well lets get to it.
*First a disclaimer I am not responsible for any harm that comes to your phone you are doing this at your own risk and the end result is what happend for my varient of the sgs3 follow my guide at your own desire, oh and also if your phone ends up in jail dont call me to bail it out.
So the easiest way to remove root from your device is to simply flash a zip file that our good friend noobnl has put up along with the awesome Team Epic that automatically removes the Superuser app, su, and all busybox symlinks.
Step 1. Download noobnl and Team Epics Un-root zip Here.
Step 2. Move the downloaded file to the root of your internal (SD) storage SGS3
Step 3. Turn your phone off
Step 4. Boot into recovery by pressing and holding the Up button on the volume rocker, the home button, and the power button all at the same time.
Step 5. Enable back button by using the volume rocker to go up and down about 3 times and then a message will appear saying back button enabled.
Step 6. Select install zip using the home button then find the zip labeled Teamepic-Removeroot-from-recovery-signed.zip and select it then scroll down the list of no’s to the yes and select.
Step 7. Reboot and the Superuser app is gone and so is everything else.
Well hope this little tutorial of mine helped you guys out and like i said as soon as the stock recovery image hits I’ll update this tutorial so you get the full stock system back. So if i helped you out tell your friends and let me know if you have any questions in the boxes below.
